Cleaning instructions If the permeate performance per module decreases by approx. 20% below the performance after last start-up a cleaning procedure of the UF-system is recommended. Later introduced cleaning procedures may lead to reduced cleaning success Acids As far we know cathodic electrocoating paints contain pure or a mixture of acids mentioned below: Acetic - lactic - formic - sulfamic acid. The acidity of the acids is listed from soft (acetic acid) to strong (sulfamic acid). In general the acidity of the cleaner solution has to be guided by the measured pH value of the cleaning solution. Example Cleaner solution: 87 % DI water ~ 5 % Technical grade acetic acid, lactic acid or formic acid. Depending on the actual used acids in the paint system, the same or after consultation of the paint supplier, the next stronger acid shall be introduced to the cleaning solution. 5 - 8 % Butylglycole (C6H14O2, 2-butoxy ethanol) pH value Adjust the cleaning solution to 2 to 2,5 pH.
